We practice a method of software development that we like to call "Iterative design and build." We generally summarize it like this:
- Design. Build. Repeat until done.
The more common "design and build" portion of our approach leverages our two main strengths.
- Design: we have a great deal of experience solving complex problems for public policy minded organizations (including helping to find funding).
- Build: we've created a large library of custom software that solves many of the common problems faced by organizations like yours. This gives us a great running start when we begin work on your specific goals.
Keeping these two concepts tightly coupled allows us to create very sophisticated solutions quickly. It also ensures that the outcome of our projects are practical, affordable, maintainable, and long-lived.
The "iterative" portion of our approach leverages one of the main strengths of Internet software development: any work in progress can be accessed by all of the stakeholders at all times. This means that we spend very little time writing draft documents -- we build actual working drafts instead. We keep building versions until we have consensus and then we launch.
And we don't disappear at this point: We assist with hosting, ongoing training, upgrades, and site maintenance.
